What RDP is, how it works and how to connect.
RDP is Microsoft's protocol for controlling another computer over the internet. You see and use the remote Windows desktop as if you were sitting in front of it, with your own keyboard and mouse. An RDP server is simply that remote Windows machine, hosted in a data center.
An RDP server is a Windows computer in a data center that you reach through Remote Desktop. It stays online 24/7, so programs keep running even when your own PC is off. PCRDP sells Shared RDP, Private VPS and dedicated servers for this.
Your RDP client sends your keyboard and mouse input to the server and receives the screen picture back. All programs run on the server, not on your device. You only need a stable internet connection and your server IP, username and password.
On Windows, open Remote Desktop Connection, enter the server IP, then your username and password. On Mac, Android and iPhone you can use the free Microsoft Remote Desktop app. The login details arrive in your client area and email after payment.
Yes. The Microsoft Remote Desktop app works on Android, iOS and macOS, and Linux users can use clients such as Remmina. Your RDP server runs Windows, but you can open it from almost any device.
You need a PCRDP account, a payment method and a device with an RDP client. Choose a plan, pay, and we send your server details. No special hardware is needed on your side.
RDP is the way you connect, while a VPS is the type of server. A Windows Private VPS gives you its own reserved resources and admin rights, and you open it over RDP. A Shared RDP is a Windows server split between several users without admin access.
A dedicated server is a whole physical machine that only you use, while a normal RDP or VPS is a share of a machine. Dedicated servers cost more but give full CPU, RAM and disk power. See our dedicated server plans.
An RDP VPS is a virtual private server running Windows that you manage over Remote Desktop. It behaves like your own cloud PC with reserved CPU, RAM and storage. Our Private VPS plans start from $6.99 per month.
No. RDP shows you a remote desktop, while a VPN encrypts your own internet traffic. Running VPN or proxy services on our shared and VPS plans is not allowed. Only dedicated servers may be used for that, within our acceptable use policy.
Most RDP and VPS plans run Windows Server, and the version is listed under each plan. Linux VPS plans and Python RDP use Linux such as Ubuntu, CentOS or Debian. Dedicated servers come with Windows Server or Linux, depending on the plan.
RDP is safe when you use a strong password, keep Windows updated and do not share your login. Our servers sit in professional data centers, and private plans give you your own dedicated IP. You can also change the default RDP port on admin plans.
Plans for light daily work at the lowest price.
Shared RDP is one Windows server used by several people at once, each with their own login. It is our cheapest option, from $4.99 per month. Because resources are shared and there is no admin access, it suits light work. See Shared RDP plans.
It depends on the plan. Cheap RDP plans are shared by roughly 15 to 25 users, and streaming plans by about 8 to 10 users. The number is written in each plan's feature list.
Cheap RDP is our entry-level Windows RDP from $4.99 per month. It works well for browsing, file downloads, office tasks and learning. It is not meant for heavy software, and botting is not allowed.
Yes. You can pay by card, PayPal or crypto such as Bitcoin, plus several other methods listed on our payment methods page. The price in USD is shown next to every plan.
No. Shared RDP plans have no administrator access, so you cannot install system-level software. If you need admin rights, choose a Private VPS or a dedicated plan, where you are the administrator.
Admin RDP gives you full administrator rights, so you can install your own programs and change settings. At PCRDP, admin access comes with Private VPS and dedicated servers, which also have reserved resources and a dedicated IP.
We do not offer free RDP. Free RDP offers online are usually unsafe or heavily limited. Our lowest price is $4.99 per month for Shared RDP, which includes a 24-hour money-back guarantee.
Botting is not allowed on Shared RDP. If you need to run bots, use the Botting VPS, which is built for automation software. Always follow our acceptable use policy.
Yes. A VPS keeps MetaTrader 4 or 5 and Expert Advisors running day and night, even when your computer is off. Our Forex VPS is made for this, with SSD storage and a 1 Gbps connection.
For basic daily work, Cheap RDP or Shared RDP is enough. If you run many browser tabs or need your own settings, a small Private VPS is a better fit because the resources are yours alone.
Remote desktop with a real graphics card.
GPU RDP is a remote desktop on a server that has a graphics card (GPU). The GPU speeds up graphics work such as emulators, video encoding, 3D rendering and streaming. See our GPU RDP plans.
It means the remote Windows desktop can use the server's graphics card instead of only the CPU. Supported apps then run faster and smoother, and the CPU has less work. A GPU accelerated remote desktop helps with rendering, encoding and emulators.
GPU RDP at PCRDP starts at $29.99 per month, with higher plans up to $179 per month. The price depends on the GPU, RAM, disk and whether you get admin access. For more power, see GPU dedicated servers.
Our GPU RDP plans list cards such as the GeForce GTX 1080 with 8 GB and the NVIDIA GT 710. GPU dedicated servers can include a GTX 1080 or a Tesla M10. The exact card is shown on every plan.
Yes. The plans use NVIDIA cards, for example the GeForce GTX 1080. NVIDIA GPUs are widely supported by video, emulator and streaming software, so they work with most common tools.
You can run Android emulators, stream with OBS, render video and 3D scenes, edit video and run graphics-heavy programs. A GPU RDP is not the same as a large AI training server, so check the card's memory before you buy.
Yes. Emulators such as BlueStacks and NOX run better with a real GPU. For many emulator windows on one machine, see our BlueStacks Server, a dedicated server with virtualization enabled.
Yes. A GPU lets OBS encode video with less CPU load, so your stream stays smooth. For 24/7 streaming, look at Streaming GPU Server, which comes ready for streaming.
Yes, for supported software the GPU speeds up preview and export. For heavy CPU-based rendering, Rendering Server plans with many cores are often a better match.
Small AI tasks can run on a GPU with enough memory. Large models need much more GPU memory than our entry plans have. Ask support through live chat before buying, so we can match the card to your model.
For graphics work, yes. A normal RDP uses only the CPU, so video, 3D and emulators can lag. A GPU RDP costs more, so for office work and browsing a normal RDP is the better value.
Some GPU RDP plans have full admin access and some do not. The plan's feature list says "Full Admin Access" or "No Admin Access". GPU dedicated servers always give you full control.
GPU RDP is a more affordable plan on shared or virtual hardware. A GPU dedicated server is a whole machine for you, with more CPU, RAM and storage. Choose a dedicated server for heavy or 24/7 workloads.
On Windows Server, open the Group Policy Editor and enable the setting "Use hardware graphics adapters for all Remote Desktop Services sessions" under Remote Desktop Session Host, then Remote Session Environment. Restart and reconnect. This needs admin access.
Plans built for specific workloads.
Streaming RDP is a Windows RDP tuned for live streaming and media work, from $15.99 per month. It is shared with only about 8 to 10 users and offers strong network speed.
Encoding RDP is built for video encoding and conversion with a strong CPU, from $12.99 per month. It suits tools such as HandBrake and FFmpeg. These plans are shared and have no admin access.
Extreme Encoding RDP offers a more powerful CPU with up to 3 GHz boost clock, from $29.99 per month. Choose it when normal encoding is too slow.
Rendering RDP gives you strong CPU resources for rendering video and 3D scenes, from $29.99 per month. For the heaviest jobs, upgrade to a Rendering dedicated server.
10 GBPS RDP is a Windows RDP in Dallas, Texas, USA with a very fast network connection and Anti-DDoS protection. It starts at $12.99 per month and suits downloads, uploads and traffic-heavy work.
Our shared RDP plans advertise unlimited bandwidth with a 1 Gbps port, subject to fair use. Dedicated servers list their bandwidth, such as 10 TB to 30 TB. Check the plan details before you buy.
Python RDP is a Linux server (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian and more) for running Python scripts, bots and development work, from $7.99 per month. It suits developers who prefer the command line.
For editing, a plan with a GPU and fast storage helps most, such as GPU RDP. For export and conversion only, Encoding RDP can be enough.
Yes, an RDP or VPS keeps running day and night. For stable 24/7 streaming, pick Streaming RDP for lighter streams or a Streaming GPU Server for higher quality.
Pick Streaming for live broadcast, Encoding for converting video files, and Rendering for 3D scenes and long render jobs. If you are unsure, tell our support team what software you use and we will recommend a plan.
